This is no ordinary Heli Ski Trip. First, this is An Excelsior SEABA product. We have combined the relaxation and adventure of a small cruise ship, with the experience of heli skiing, and the advantages don’t stop there. The weather and snow conditions are not meeting your requirements? We can move as many as 100 nautical miles while you sleep. Want to explore without burning up all your Hobbs time? We can moor right where you want to be. Looking to unwind after skiing with some comradery? While you and your boatmates enjoying the majesty of Alaska, maybe the local whale comes by to say hello by flapping a fluke, or slapping a tail, it will make itself known. Step outside to catch the northern lights, from the hot tub. Many things will go through your mind when you get off the helicopter, a view fit for royalty, yes, an opportunity to pioneer new runs. Most likely you won’t see any signs of human habitation at all, a feeling that can make the spirit soar.

Our multi-day plane skiing adventures give you and your friends to opportunity to fly deep into the Chilkat Mountains to rip zones that helicopters are not permitted to fly in. Fly Drake Adventures will fly you into the zone and your SEABA guide will help you set up base camp. For the next several days, hike and ski some of the most amazing terrain in the world with your dedicated guide and emergency rescue support.

Costs: $400-1800 per day

• Pre-trip planning (location, objectives, forecasting)
• Help organizing gear, kitchen supplies and food

Requirements:

• Intermediate to expert avalanche detection and forecasting skills
• Good physical condition and moderate skiing abilities
• Minimum 2 participants
• Adequate mountaineering gear (for glacier travel, glacier rescue, avalanche rescue)

SEABA's new offering is close to Haines, Alaska, and has over 3,000 acres of readily available ski and split board touring right outside the shelter's doors. We can arrange drop off and pick up to our touring shelter for this experience.

We staff our backcountry shelter with qualified guides, kitchen and all the overnight equipment so that you can experience the Alaskan backcountry, with a few added comforts. Our guides will teach you about route finding in the mountains, winter camping techniques, tips on using backcountry gear efficiently, and the do's and don'ts of winter travel. Supported by Winter Safety Institute, we will educate you so that you can navigate and travel more safely and efficiently though avalanche terrain, and in some cases glaciated terrain.

Requirements:

• Must weigh over 120 pounds and be over the age of 16
• Ability to start and maneuver sled under ones own power
• Every participant must carry SEABA approved beacon, snow shovel, probe and helmet
